Research Associate
Blessings White is an Environmental Health Practitioner with over four years of experience in field-based research focusing on Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) in Malawi. He has worked with the WASHTED Centre on a range of research projects addressing WASH challenges in healthcare facilities, schools, and rural communities. He has expertise in both quantitative and qualitative research methods, including data collection, management, and analysis. His professional experience includes developing research protocols for ethical approval, designing data collection tools, coordinating fieldwork activities, engaging with stakeholders, writing technical reports and manuscripts.
Blessings holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Health from the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS), as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health from the same institution. He is also a member of the Malawi Environmental Health Association (MEHA). He is passionate about developing sustainable sanitation solutions that meet users’ quality of life, particularly for underserved communities.
At the WASHTED Centre, Blessings has primarily worked on the WASH For Everyone (W4E) project, which tested alternative approaches to sanitation and hygiene behaviour change in rural Malawi. He is currently working on the Soap Preference Study and the Guardian Waiting Shelter (GWS) project.
