Guardian Waiting Shelters Research Dissemination

We are excited to share that we presented findings from our Guardian Waiting Shelters (GWS) study to the Environmental and Social Determinants of Health Technical Working Group (TWG) at the World Health Organization (WHO) offices in Lilongwe.

The TWG, convened by WHO in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Sanitation, plays a key role in addressing Pillar 2 of the Health Sector Strategic Plan III. It serves as a national platform for discussing critical public health issues that need to be considered in the national-level health priorities. Presenting our findings to this forum marks an important milestone in pursuing the integration of Guardian Waiting Shelters into relevant national policies in Malawi.

The meeting brought together stakeholders from across the health sector, including representatives from the Ministry of Health and Sanitation; WHO; the University of Malawi; the Malawi Liverpool Wellcome Research Programme; the Public Health Institute of Malawi; and PATH Malawi, among others.
