Consultancy Update: Caregiver Health-Seeking Behaviour Study Delivered for World Vision Malawi

We are pleased to share a key milestone from a consultancy WASHTED delivered for our client, World Vision Malawi.

On 17 September, findings from the study “Understanding Caregivers’ Health-Seeking Behaviour for Under-Five Children” were disseminated to stakeholders in Machinga District, including the Ministry of Health, the District Health Office, CSOs, and the media.

The research uncovered the beliefs, myths, and practices shaping how caregivers make health decisions for young children. The insights are now feeding directly into national efforts to reduce under-five mortality, currently 38 deaths per 1,000 live births.

The evidence generated will also inform policy through the upcoming Healthy Diets IEC materials and a revision to the National Nutrition Education Communication Strategy.

At WASHTED, we’re committed to delivering rigorous, evidence-based consultancy that helps our partners drive real impact.

Thank you to World Vision Malawi for trusting us with this important work, and to the Machinga community for their participation!
