WASHTED at the Mzuzu University 3rd National Research Dissemination Conference

We are proud to be part of the Mzuzu University (MZUNI) 3rd National Research Dissemination Conference, taking place at the MZUNI ODeL Complex in Mzuzu from 23–24 September 2026.

Held under the theme “Leveraging the Attainment of MW2063 and MIP 2030 through Transformative Research, Technology and Innovation,” the conference provides an important platform for researchers, academics, policymakers, and other stakeholders to share evidence and innovations that can contribute meaningfully to Malawi’s national development agenda.

The conference also features a Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) component, recognising that the aspirations outlined in the Malawi Vision 2063 (MW2063) and the Malawi Implementation Plan 2030 (MIP 2030) cannot be attained without improved sanitation and public health.

WASHTED is contributing through a presentation by our staff member, Blessings White, on “Impact of Community-Led Total Sanitation Interventions on Sanitation-related Quality of Life.”

The study is part of the WASH for Everyone research project, in which WASHTED collaborated with the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and the University of Strathclyde – Civil & Environmental Engineering Department to evaluate a Water, Sanitation and Hygiene project implemented by World Vision International and Water For People in Chiradzulu District.

The study essentially presents a novel approach to assessing the effectiveness of sanitation interventions in community settings.
