MUBAS’ WASHTED Centre embarks on a research journey with the University of Notre Dame

The University of Notre Dame’s team visit from 14th July to 6th August 2025, marks the commencement of the WASH, Poverty and Health study in Blantyre, Malawi; bringing together a team of researchers from the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (through WASHTED Centre) and the University of Notre Dame, USA. The study aims to understand the nexus: poverty, poor health, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH). The two years project is funded by the Poverty Initiative and will be carried out three phases. This is an exciting partnership, creating opportunities towards finding practical, evidence-based and context specific solutions for improving health and well-being in Malawi’s urban communities.
